Biography

Creativity was an important aspect of my childhood. My mother taught me how to knit, embroider and sew as well as the skill of crochet. We even worked on less common techniques like making bobbin lace. My father was an enthusiastic photographer. As a child I already made dolls, doll’s clothes, small bags and even clothes for myself.

After a period during which I was more interested in ceramics, the past 10 years I have been working on all types of fiber art, mainly quilts. In the beginning I made traditional quilts, but soon my designs became more free. Often my work can be seen at exhibitions in or outside the Netherlands

I graduated as a biologist and work currently as an ecologist for a local authority. This background has left traces in both the theme’s of my work as well as the executions of my designs.
