Introduction

My work originates from the more traditional quilts that I made in the past. I use different kinds of fabric that I supplement with other materials. In the past years I combined for example hand dyed fabrics with felt and beads in my work.

What I find especially rewarding is the combination of making a creative design and executing this design at the sewing machine or by hand with an embroidery needle.  I enjoy the interaction between the original design and the many possibilities that arise when executing it. When I sit at my sewing machine, surrounded by pieces of fabric, scraps and threads in all kinds of colours, I feel like a fish in the water.

My inspiration I get from daily life; nature and the daily routine  in my life are my main theme’s. It is a challenge to express my experiences in a design and to find the matching materials and techniques.
